AHEPA established the Track and Field Meet in 1976 at the suggestion of our past brother James Tanos. James was a fan of the Penn Relays, often taking his family to enjoy the games. James had a dream of doing something for the youth of the community that would emulate the excitement of competition of the “Olympic Games,” and hence the Track and Field Meet began.
